Bringing play into daily life.
In this project, I designed a solution to the Blackbox problem seen in tablets and accessories. This trend shows products are becoming too complex for everyday people to understand. They focus on objective science, taking away from user experience.
Through user research I discovered the opportunity to use everyday objects in the tablet setup. People around me used bottles, pot plants and pillows alike to angle their tablets in a way that humanly suited them.
This inspired the design of Modu Tab, a playful modular tablet for children. This tablet embodies the form language of Lego, an everyday product that presents a culturally and emotionally meaningful experience for people to understand.
The tablet can be built and set up as pleased using large beams and connectors. This modularity brings creativity and play into a users daily life.
